New Zealand

Let’s just start with an apt quote from wine writer, Mark Oldman: “New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc is like a child who inherits the best of both parents—exotic aromas found in certain Sauvignon Blancs from the New World and the pungency and limy acidity of an Old World Sauvignon Blanc like Sancerre from the Loire Valley.” It is truly remarkable how quickly New Zealand has been able to carve out a significant presence in world of wine. It has only been since the 1990’s that the country’s Sauvignon Blancs and Pinot Noirs have been made widely available and accessible to the international market. Now, only a few decades later, New Zealand has a wide number of grape varieties planted throughout the country and Vine Ventures’ is excited to partner with New Zealand producers to bring these distinctive wines to the U.S.
